Challenges ignite student interest in exploring and bringing greater awareness to careers and skills building. At the same time, challenges connect students to their community and allow them to engage with authentic problems.

How do Challenges work?

We start with a broad topic or theme and begin to narrow our focus by co-constructing challenges with industry and community sponsors. Our goal is to crowdsource solutions to today’s complex problems. Using the design thinking process & mindset as our framework, we encourage all students to think critically, innovate, and think outside the box.

Familiar yourself with the challenge.

It all starts with a BIG question. From there, some challenges may offer more specific driving questions that align with a variety of industry sectors (Agriculture & Natural Resources, Business & Finance, Hospitality, etc.).

If the challenge is “calling your name”, enroll your class in the challenge and get some support in making this a full integrated Work-Based Learning experience
