DURING THIS WEEK
Try to converge on a group of ideas/solutions. Find a balance between dreaming big and staying grounded.
Now that you have spent some time ideating a whole bunch of different solutions to solve your problem, you want to start sifting through which ideas to take forward. Imagine your ideas as a network of roads. Similar to our roadways in California, our highways quickly diverge, but eventually, they converge around big cities—these big cities are you big ideas.
Methods for Converging Ideas
Are your ideas/solutions innovative?
Viability: Does your solution effectively solve the problem or challenge without creating larger issues?
Desirability: Is your “user” actually interested and likely to adopt or use your solution?
Feasibility: Do you have the capital (resources, money, tools, etc.) and time to make this solution happen?
How do iterate by combining ideas?
Bundling Ideas
Bundling Ideas takes you from strong individual concepts to solutions of substance. Think of it as a game of mix and match, with the end goal of putting the best parts of several ideas together to create more complex concepts.
Things to consider as you decide on what solutions/ideas to take forward!
Can Brightmark implement your solution—does it fit within the scope of what they do?
Who could you partner with to elevate your solution?
Who might be in opposition to your solution?
What research do you still need to do to understand how this solution will work and what impact it will make?
